Editor’s Note: We spoke with Erin Halstead, a professional realtor with Michael Saunders & Company based in Englewood, Florida. Please call 941-270-0539 or visit ErinHalstead.com.
Erin, please share information about your local roots and some of your civic positions?
I grew up in Englewood, and my husband and I raised our family here. I’m passionate about serving others and I’ve been involved with many charitable organizations including the Kiwanis Club of Englewood-Cape Haze. I currently serve on the boards of Englewood Community Hospital, Englewood Area Cancer Foundation, and the Englewood Chamber of Commerce.
What do you enjoy most about your profession?
Helping people to realize their dreams while making a smart real estate investment is very satisfying. Buying or selling a home can be stressful, so I’m thoughtful about reassuring my clients through each step of the buying or selling process.
What would you like to share about Michael Saunders & Company?
The excellent customer experience and depth of knowledge and resources in our company are major assets for our clients. I became a full time realtor with our company in 2015. I’m proud to have earned the company Circle of Excellence Award for meeting the highest standards set by our founder, Michael Saunders.
How have your prior experiences enhanced your capabilities?
I worked successfully in the daily operations of my family’s business for over 20 years. I negotiated local, state, and national contracts. As a business owner, I relate to home buyers and sellers since many of them are retiring or buying a second home. As a parent and grandparent, I can also relate to the various concerns people have when choosing a home and neighborhood.
What’s the key to success in a buyer’s market with low inventory?
Being flexible is important along with avoiding decision-making fatigue. My clients rely on my depth of my knowledge about the area, and the diversity of my experience as a professional realtor. It’s important to respond quickly and thoughtfully to questions and concerns that come up during the buying and selling process.
What’s the latest with your family? How are your twin grandsons doing?
Bryan and our son, Jack, run a thriving septic business, Amberjack Sanitation, Inc. Our daughter, Amber, is a successful biologist working for Earth Balance, an environmental consulting and restoration company. Our grandsons, Miller and Ozzy are growing fast. They keep everyone on their toes now that they’re walking and talking. We are grateful for a wonderful family and healthy lifestyle.
