Lee Reid Earns Lifetime Achievement Award by Randy Moore – I’m honored to announce the first recipient of our Lifetime Achievement Award. Congratulations to Lee Reid, the owner of Reid’s Nutrition Center in Englewood and a lifelong advocate of healthy living. Lee is the matriarch of the Reid family which includes her daughters Kim, Toni, Suzanne, Michelle, and Nikki, and her sons Mike, Wes, and Rex.
Lee opened Reid’s Nutrition Center in 1976 after moving to Englewood from California. I met her for the first time in late August 2016. That’s when I walked into her store to let her know I was launching Englewood Healthy Living. Lee was the first business owner I contacted, and her gracious support provided me with positive momentum.
I became a regular customer at Reid’s Nutrition Center and that gave me many opportunities to interact with Lee on questions about supplements and health trends. Like so many other people, I came to appreciate her substantive insights about wellness and her wisdom about life.
I also observed how Lee interacted with her customers, and I was touched by her gentle and courteous manner. Her respect of people from all walks of life reveals as much about Lee as anything else you could know. Lee lives her spiritual values with humility each day, and that’s evident in how she’s built her store and family. Her legacy of caring about others says the best about her and our community.
Each of us stands on the shoulders of older residents, including determined family members who paved the way for our success and happiness. In a community with so many great individuals and families, few people have broader shoulders than Lee Reid.
In addition to presenting Lee with her well-deserved award, we are asking our readers and everyone who has been touched by Lee’s goodwill to stop by Reid’s Nutrition Center anytime in February to present her with a single flower. A single flower – perhaps a rose or carnation – representing gratitude and respect.
Thank you for being part of our acknowledgement of this very special lady who has given so much to our community the past 42-years. As a further tribute, the new permanent name of our award is the Lee Reid Lifetime Achievement Award. Congratulations Lee!
