Dr. Crosby was a 2020 recipient of our Englewood Spirit Award in recognition of her humanitarian efforts locally and around the world.
Dr. Crosby, please give a brief overview about your services?
We’ve been supporting local patients for 15 plus years. We help people of all ages to hear better through audiological evaluations, the proper fitting of hearing aids, wax removal, repairing hearing aids, and auditory brain fitness. We also provide treatment support for Tinnitus. One of the advanced technologies we use for fitting hearing aids more precisely is Live Speech Mapping.
What are your newest services?
We’re providing better cognitive screening and functional hearing assessments. These tools and processes help us evaluate hearing acuity even with everyday background noise. It’s very important to understand the needs and expectations of individual patients while making precise adjustments to enhance the performance of their hearing aids. The services page on our website provides more details about our programs and screening tools that support auditory processing and cognitive health.
What are some of the hearing aid brands available at your clinic?
We have access to a wide selection of excellent digital hearing aids from respected companies like Oticon, Phonak, Signia, and Widex. We know how important it is to select the right hearing aid for a person’s needs and that includes making sure it fits properly.
Who else is on your team at Advanced Hearing Solutions?
Our other dedicated Audiologists include Dr. Karen Draper and Dr. Keely Huey. Dr. Draper is a native Floridian from Orlando. Dr. Huey moved to this area in 2015 after practicing in Ohio for 15 years. Renee and Melissa are also members of our office staff. My husband Michael is a co-owner of the practice, and he supports all of our day to day operations.
What’s the latest with your nonprofit Hearing the Call Englewood?
Rhonda is the new director of our nonprofit Hearing the Call. She’s looking for locals who could be eligible to receive hearing aids at a very discounted rate in exchange for community service. Inquiries are welcome at 941-474-8393. Our program was inspired by my association with the Entheos Audiology Cooperative, a group that provides hearing care to underserved communities around the world.
