What’s your brief
history in financial services?
I started in the field in 1997. This was in the midst of the tech bubble when the market was booming. Then the bubble burst and we all got a lesson in the importance of diversification, asset allocation, etc. This disciplined approach came in handy during the financial crisis of 2008 and remains true today.
What are some
considerations for clients dealing with philanthropic endeavors?
Many of my clients want to give to their favorite charity, church or other nonprofit. Tax laws have changed and just writing a check may not provide the best benefit to you or the recipient. When it comes to gifting, it’s important to consider to whom, how much, when, and by what means? We have a lot of experience helping our clients achieve their philanthropic goals. It’s rewarding to see it done right.
What does personal
financial planning entail?
No one client or situation is the same. The main goal with a new client is to understand their values and goals. This is the key to developing a solid financial plan. It involves building a positive relationship with them and reviewing their plan regularly.
