Tracy, what’s the brief history of your essential oils company?
Kokokahn Pure Essential Oils was born in January 2009. The name was chosen on a month-long journey in Bali in 2005. It means white heron in Balinese, an eternal sacred spirit. I began my essential oil study and journey in Japan in 2001. I launched Kokokahn after getting my aromatherapy certification with a focus on the chemistry and safe use of essential oils. We import essential oils direct from farmers globally and test for purity and quality.
What makes your essential oils pure and what are some of your quality standards?
The plant material farmers use that we source from is unsprayed, wildcrafted or certified organic. Most importantly, each batch of oil is GC/MS tested by a third party chemist. You can see the quality and purity of an essential oil in the chemistry. This is the gold standard for the industry and the only way to know for sure that an oil is pure and high quality.
How many oils do you make and what are some of the most popular choices?
We currently offer about 80 essential oil and essential oil blends. Some of our most popular blends include Breathe, Dream Time and Zen. Breathe is great for respiratory support, opening breathing airways and supporting the lungs. Dream Time encourages a restful night of sleep and Zen is for calming and grounding. Lavender and peppermint are also very popular.
What are some of your favorite oils for strengthening the immune system and general well-being?
Lavender, sweet marjoram, citrus oils and eucalyptus are some of my favorites for supporting the immune system. We have a blend called Immunity that has 6 immune supporting oils. Blending essential oils together creates a synergistic effect that supports and boosts the effects of each oil in the blend. Diffusing immune supporting essential oils and doing old fashioned steams with a bowl of steaming water and 1 drop of essential oil are two great ways to use oils when you’re feeling run down.
What are some of the essential oils that are good for stress?
Lavender, frankincense, roman chamomile, ylang ylang, patchouli and vetiver are just a few that calm and help reduce stress. There are several ways to use them to soothe stressful situations. Put a drop or two on a cotton ball and inhale deeply several times. Put one drop in your bed sheets just below your pillow to help calm and de-stress before bed. Put a few drops on an essential oil necklace so you can be breathing in essential oils throughout the day. These are just a few ways to use essential oils for stress.
What other products do you sell that complement your line of essential oils?
We are all about a natural, plant-based approach to self-care. Hydrosols, carrier oils, salt lamps, skin care, essential oil necklaces, and diffusers are some of our other products.
What would you like to share about your workshops?
We offer educational workshops about aromatherapy and essential oils at our store in North Port once a month. Our website provides details. You can also sign up for our workshops online or call us at 941-200-5243.
What are some of the retail businesses that carry your products?
